More Answers to 5 Questions about Blithe Spirit

Tina Smith, originally from Baton Rouge, has called Alexandria home since 1985. She has played innumerable roles through the years.  Her favorites include Sister Hubert in NUNSENSE and Mrs. Lovett in SWEENEY TODD.  Children and Family Playhouse have consumed much of her time in the last 18 years but she still found time to direct CPPs NUNSENSE and THE BOYFRIEND. She is very happy to return to the stage is this role, which has become a new favorite for her. She teaches private voice lessons and directs handbells at St. James and her church choir and is an active member of Red River Chorale.

2.  Describe your character in 3 words. 
            Robust, enthusiastic, optimistic

3.  What is your favorite scene and line? 
                        Act I, Scene 2    "Time is the reef upon which all our mystic                                                                                       ships are wrecked"

4.  Through your character's eyes - what is Blithe Spirit about? 
                        I am called upon to lend my professional expertise to an evening dinner party where I conduct a séance.  Something quite unexpected occurs and I am consumed by my duty to rectify the situation.

5.  What do you hope audiences will take away from the play? 
                        Be careful what you wish, you may get more than you                                  bargained for.
