L. Barnett Evans is a novelist, playwright
and award-winning storyteller who appears regularly in venues across the
country. As a playwright her works include the Christian-oriented plays: Is
God Calling My Name? North Star and The Body of Christ. The
play, Grandmothers, Incorporated, co-written with C.V. Rhodes, and
based on the book of the same title, is her first collaborative playwriting effort.
Evans has written for newspapers and magazines and through her company, Skye
Writing Enterprises, she is available as a speaker and workshop facilitator.

Reporter Award for Best Original Writing for a Comedy (The Trip),
the Jefferson Award for Best Original Writing (Stoops) and by the St.
Louis Black Repertory Theatre Awards for Best Original Writing (Stoops).
She is the recipient of the Black Theatre Association Award for Best Original
Writing (Stoops) and was nominated in 2010 for a second Black Theatre
Association Award for Best Original Writing for The Trip.
A prolific writer, Rhodes has received numerous
accolades as an author. She is the author of numerous romantic suspense
novels including: Sin, Sweet Sacrifice, Sinful
Intentions, Singing a Song… Small Sensations, Still
Waters..., and her latest release Secrets. Her
novels have received numerous honors including the BlackRefer.com Annual
Reviewer’s Choice Award as Best Romance Novel. Two of her novels
have been selected as reads by the national Black Expressions Book Club. Her
2010 release, Still Waters… was selected as one of the Top 40 Books
of the year by Black Pearls Magazine. Written Word Magazine has named
Rhodes as one of the Ten Up and Coming Authors in the Midwest. Rhodes has a Masters degree in Sociology and has
